Awaiting Arrival
I was meeting a friend at an event venue.
The doors had already opened, but my friend was still not there.
I sent a message.
Where are you?
There was no reply.
My friend and I shared access through the car app.
We had set it up once out of curiosity. I could check the car’s location or send it a destination.
When I opened the map, the car was still at my friend’s home.
I set the event venue as its destination.
Once my friend got in, there would be no need to look up the route.
A little while later, the app sent a notification.
Departed
So my friend had finally left home.
The estimated arrival time was ten minutes after the event began.
That was just like my friend.
I waited near the entrance and watched the car move across the map.
It stopped at lights, turned corners, took a slight detour, and gradually approached the venue.
Before long, the familiar car pulled up outside the entrance.
There was no one in the driver’s seat.
No one in the passenger seat or the back either.
The doors remained closed. Only the navigation screen was glowing.
You have arrived at your destination
I looked through the window.
Just then, a message arrived from my friend.
The car didn’t go over there, did it?
I took a picture and sent it back.
It’s here
A reply came a moment later.
Then I’ll leave now too
The car had already arrived at the venue.
I decided to wait beside it for my friend.
